Welcome to Micro Magic Canada

Canada's home to the Graupner Micro Magic radio-controlled yacht, and a beginner's guide to building, rigging, tuning and sailing this great model.

MMC SITE NEWS:

>>03 Jun 2008 -- I joined the new Yahoo group MicroMagic USA, even though I'm a Canuck. I consider myself an infiltrator like Jim Carrey or Mike Myers -- if I don't say I'm Canadian no one will know. The group looks excellent, and might just start the ball rolling for a meaningful MM presence in North America. You should join too.
>>07 Jun 2007 -- Word has it there's growing interest in the MM on Vancouver Island! Maybe we could meet somewhere in the middle for a regatta -- perhaps Winnipeg?
>>08 Jul 2006 -- Took CAN-2 to the Atlantic Nationals Car Show's rc boat regatta in Moncton, New Brunswick on July 8, 2006. The sailing wasn't great, but at any given time there were several hundred spectators. Hope we inspired a few to get their own!
>>10 Apr 2006 -- CAN-2 hit Halifax's Northwest Arm early Sunday morning, and what a sight it was. A perfect sail. It didn't even need any significant trimming to rip along well and hold its line. What a pleasure these boats are!
>>13 Mar 2006 -- At long-last, over the weekend I finished CAN-2 and my building log here: Building the Micro Magic. Now if the ice would just melt and let me get started..!
>>07 Mar 2006 -- Did the deck hardware, rigged the sheets and assembled the mast in my new hull: Building the Micro Magic.
>>2 Mar 2006 -- Continuing work on my second boat, I finished the keel and added the decals to the hull (Building the Micro Magic). Now for rigging.
>>27 Feb 2006 -- Haven't had enough time to work on the MM but got a few items completed on the weekend, updating the Building the Micro Magic log. The lakes are still frozen here so there's not as much impetus to keep this kit moving forward, but I know I'll regret it if the boat's not done by Spring!
>>01 Jan 2006 -- I'm back at it. Finally unpacked the one-third-built CAN-2 and did a bit of work -- updated the Building the Micro Magic log with some new pictures. All comments welcome! Also, have a look at the MM in the"Mini Volvo Ocean Race".
>>23 Sep 2005 -- Sorry for the lack of action lately -- moved house in August so my half-built MM is low on my list of chores. I expect to resume the build soon.
>>21 Jun 2005 -- Revised the link on the Rules page to reference the English translation of the German club's rules, rather than the version in German.
>>14 Jun 2005 -- Added a few more steps to the Building the Micro Magic log.
>>06 Jun 2005 -- Added a running log of my own assembly of the Micro Magic kit, with photos, in a new page: Building the Micro Magic, accessible through the Construction Tips page. I will continue to update the log as I progress through the kit. Feel free to email me if you think I'm going astray or have comments of any kind.
>>03 Jun 2005 -- Did a fairly extensive revision of the Building Instructions Booklet on the Plans page, shrinking its file size a bit more, improving the images, improving format and legibility, fixing some outstanding typos and adding a sail rigging graphic.
>>26 May 2005 -- Changed the home page to provide this running tally of updates and changes as the site progresses. Trust this is helpful for our return visitors.
>>25 May 2005 -- Revised the building instructions booklet on the Plans page to clean up a few typographical errors caused by scanning and the text recognition process.
>>15 May 2005 -- Added several links on the Construction Tips page, linking to outside sites that provide MM build-up diaries and tips.
>>11 May 2005 -- Revised the translated Plan Sheets on the Plans page to improve resolution and to save as TIFFs to preserve the aspect ratio. Also saved Page 1 in different aspect ratios for ease of printing on standard North American paper sizes.
>>20 Apr 2005 -- Added some outside links in the Gallery page until we have a few more pictures of our own.

>>18 Apr 2005 -- Site launched!
